PS 11 Triumphs at Nationals! Third Grader Avaan places second in the Nation!

The Chelsea Chessmates have returned victorious from the US National Elementary Championships! Our team of 14 players across various sections fought hard all weekend. Our K-1 Championship team ( Aarush, Anay, Elliott, Oliver and Silas) won tenth place. In the K-3 Championship section, Avaan fought an early setback to power through all seven rounds to claim second place in the country. He scored 6 out of 7 with no losses and two draws. Despite being two players short, our K-3 team (Indira and Avaan) scored 13th place in the team standings. A big shout out to the rest of the team: Our fourth graders Sabella, Joshua, Meera and Viggo, whose love for chess is as strong as ever, and Emma, Nanao and Alli who brought the girl power! The team ends the year on a high note!
