SLT Bookclub Coffee & a Book

SLT is re-launching the parent book club in a new format. Read a book and come to the meeting. That’s it! It’s a great way to have a conversation with peers and learn new perspectives. And get a chance to hang out with Mr. Bender.

For White Folks Who Teach in the Hood...and the Rest of Y'all Too by Christopher Emdin
First Meeting: November 28, 2017 9am, Location TBD. 
Drawing on his own experiences, Christopher Emdin offers a new lens and approach to teaching and learning in urban schools. Putting forth his theory of Reality Pedagogy, Emdin provides practical tools to unleash the brilliance of the youth and educators alike.  
Please read Introduction, and Chapters 1-6 for the first meeting.
